Nasarawa State College of Education Recruitment 2020 for Non-Academic Staff

This is to inform the general public that College of Education, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, has opened application  / job vacancies in its institution for Non-academic staffs and applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the positions below:

Job Title 1: College Registrar

Qualifications
Candidate for the post of the Registrar must possess the following requirements:

  • Possession of relevant Master’s Degree from a recognized Institution of High learning with at least eighteen (18) years of cognate experience
  • Possession of Doctorate Degree is an added advantage
  • Must be a member of a recognized professional body in relevant field
  • Must have been a Deputy Registrar on CONTEDISS 14
  • Must be computer literate.

Terms of Appointment

  • The appointment is for a period of five (5) years.
  • The condition of service is as obtainable at College of Education, Akwanga.

 

Job Title 2: College Librarian

Job Description

  • General supervision of staff and readers
  • In-charge of Day-to-day management of the Library, staff selection, staff training and book selection
  • In-charge of Library policy, personal contacts and liaising with departments on books requirement
  • Preparation of Library Budget
  • Giving professional advice on library matters
  • Responsible to the Provost for the smooth running of the College Library
  • Performing any other duty that may be assigned from time-to-time.

Qualifications
Candidates for the post of Librarian must possess the following requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) with at least eighteen (18) years cognate experience
  • Must have relevant publications in Journals and Textbooks equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must belong to the Library Professional body.

Terms of Appointment

  • The appointment is for a period of five (5) years
  • The conditions of service of the College Librarian is as obtainable at College of Education, Akwanga.

 

Job Title 3: College Bursar

The Position

  • The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the College and shall be responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.

Duties

  • Co-ordinating the financial operations of the College;
  • Establishing appropriate internal control systems;
  • Advising the Provost on financial matters;
  • Preparing periodic / annual financial reports of the College;
  • Interpreting and installing efficient accounting systems;
  • Interpreting financial regulations;
  • The candidate must be able to maintain general ledger, prepare trial balance and prepare financial statements of the College in accordance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS)without supervision
  • Performing any other related duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications
Candidates for the post of Bursar must possess the following requirements:

  • A good Honours Degree or HND in Accountancy from a recognized Institution of higher learning, plus registration with a recognized professional accounting body
  • Must possess relevant Master’s Degree from a recognized Institution of higher learning with at least 18 years of cognate experience.
  • Must have been a Deputy Bursar or its equivalent.
  • Must be computer iterate

Terms of Appointment

  • The appointment is for a period of five (5) years
  • The conditions of service are as obtainable at College of Education, Akwanga.

 

Job Title 4: College Provost

Job Description

  • Candidates for the post must possess demonstrable evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in policy formulation, management of human and material resources, good human relations and other positive managerial attributes.

Duties

  • The Provost is the Chief Executive of the College and is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the College.
  • Provide the required Academic, Administrative and Professional Leadership for the College in executing, the broad policies laid down by the Governing Council for the achievement of the goals and objectives of the College.
  • The Chief Academic, Administrative and Accounting Officer of the College;
  • The Chairman of the Academic Board that directs and oversees academi activities of the College;
  • A member of the College Governing Council in charge of providing periodic reports on the progress of the College in terms of personnel, finances, infrastructure and ensuring that the decisions of Council are carried out promptly;
  • Responsible for approving and authorizing all payments and expenditures of the college in accordance with approved thresholds and Governing Council’s decisions.
  • The Provost must ensure sound financial management system and discipline in the College.
  • The Provost shall foster good rapport with the relevant organs of the State Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, National Commission for Colleges of Education and other professional bodies that would lead the College to the status of academic excellence.
  • Candidate must be computer literate.

Qualifications
Candidates for the post of Provost should possess the followings:

  • A Master’s Degree in a field relevant to, at least, one programme in the College with a minimum of eighteen (18) years post qualification teaching / research experience in the College of Education System; and in addition must have held a Senior Teaching / Research as well as holding top Administrative Leadership position in an Institution of Higher learning
  • Possession of Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) is an added advantage
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as a Chief Lecturer in a College of Education
  • Evidence of good track record in result-oriented researches at national and international levels, as evident in scholarly publications
  • Evidence of professional standing and honours
  • Demonstrable evidence of good conduct, discipline, dedication, drive, resourcefulness and ability, to command respect and loyalty of members of Staffs and Students of the College
  • Candidate shall not foster personal, social, ethnic, political, religious and other sectional interest
  • Possession of professional teaching qualification, a minimum of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), including registration with the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is mandatory
  • Evidence of community services at both local and national levels
  • Candidate must be a person of vision, a goal getter, and one that can produce and execute a strategic plan for the College

Tenure

  • The appointment is for a period of four (4) years.

Salary

  • The salary and fringe benefits attached to the post are as applicable to the post of a Provost of College of Education Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
