Nigeria Immigration Contactless Passport (CONPAS) | How to Apply. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has introduced the Contactless Passport Application System (CONPAS) to streamline the passport renewal process for Nigerians, particularly those residing abroad.

This innovative system allows eligible applicants to renew their passports online without the need for physical presence at an embassy or consulate.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has launched the Contactless Passport Renewal System in Europe after successfully introducing it in Canada. This new system will allow eligible Nigerians that are abroad renew their passport 100% online without needing to visit any immigration office.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens.
  • Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
  • Have a current passport that is due for renewal (first-time applicants and minors are currently not eligible for this service).

How to Apply for Contactless Passport Renewal

  • Download NIS Mobile App (when available in your region) OR visit the official NIS website
  • Create a Profile: Register with your valid email address.
  • Eligibility Check: Take a quick eligibility test to confirm if your passport qualifies for renewal.
  • Enter your National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Input your current passport number for verification
  • Upload Required Documents: NIN slip, Birth certificate, Local government certificate, Other necessary documents
  • Capture Biometric Details: Use your mobile device to scan fingerprints for identity verification.
  • Make Payment Online
  • Submit Application & Wait for Processing: The NIS will process your application and deliver your new passport to your registered address.
