NDDC Foreign Post-Graduate (Master’s Degree) Scholarships 2026/2027

To further boost human resource development in the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is launching its Foreign Post Graduate Scholarship Programme.

The initiative equips young people with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Federal Government’s local content programme and enables them to specialize in their fields of study to compete globally.

Eligible Disciplines

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from recognized universities in the following areas:

  1. Agricultural Sciences/Biotechnology
  2. Engineering
  3. Environmental Sciences
  4. Geosciences
  5. Information Technology/Artificial Intelligence
  6. Medical Sciences
  7. Architecture/Building Technology
  8. Law

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must hail from the Niger Delta Region
  • First Class or Second Class Upper Division degree
  • Age must not exceed 40 years

Application Deadline

  • Application opens: March 23, 2026
  • Application closes: April 19, 2026

Method of Application

  • Submit applications online via www.nddc.gov.ng
  • Required documents:
    1. Recent passport photograph
    2. Local Government Identification Letter
    3. Post Graduate Admission letter from a recognized overseas university
    4. Relevant degrees from recognized universities
    5. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate

Upon successful completion of the application form, a registration number will be assigned. Applicants are advised to print a hard copy for future reference.

Selection Process

  1. Initial Application: Submit online via the NDDC website
  2. Preliminary Shortlisting: Based on WASSCE/NECO results, degree classification, and LGA identification
  3. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Shortlisted candidates take a CBT in Rivers State
  4. Minimum Test Score: Candidates must score at least 70% to proceed
  5. Further Shortlisting: Successful candidates are shortlisted for final verification
  6. Final Verification: Conducted by Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC)

Important Notes

  • Preferences given to candidates from Oil Producing Host Communities/Local Government Areas
  • Deferral, change of institution, or course not permitted
  • NDDC will not communicate with candidates not shortlisted for CBT or oral interviews
  • The Commission reserves the right to select candidates at its discretion

Scholarship Details

  • Funding amount is based on prevailing exchange rate of the Naira
