Jamb Suspends the Use of NIN for 2020 UTME Registration- See Candidates Reactions

Jamb to Remove NIN requirement for 2020 UTME Registration and Examination – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has suspended the National Identity Number (NIN) as a compulsory requirement for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions in 2020/2021 admission session.

According to the announcement from jamb boss Prof Ishaq Oloyede said “NIN IS SUSPENDED FOR 2020 REGISTRATION. CANDIDATES ARE TO ONLY SEND THEIR NAMES TO 55019 TO CREATE PROFILE. NO NEED FOR NIN FOR TEH 2020 JAMB UTME REGISTRATION.”

JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, said the National Identity Management Commission will create registration centres at every computer-based test centres across the country “for candidates, who do not have the NIN to avoid difficulties in writing the examination.”

This was as a result of majority of the UTME candidates have not gotten their NIN and  reactions from public as they find it difficult trying to register  and get their national identity card for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination .From report from the registration process,  A large number of candidates in a daily basis floods the NIMC registration centres nationwide.

JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, said that the No NIN No Jamb registration might be implemented in the 2021 UTME registration.
