Interested candidates should kindly apply below.The Federal Polytechnic, Ede was established in 1992 in accordance with Federal Polytechnics Act CAP F17, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, as amended in 2019. The Polytechnic has two Campuses (North and South). The North Campus is located along Talafia Road, Ede, while the South Campus is located along Egbeda – Logun Road, Ede, Osun State.

The Polytechnic was established for the training of middle and high-level technical manpower. The Institution caters for a large Students’ population enrolled in Full-Time and Part-Time Programmes at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels. All the Programmes run by the Institution are accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and relevant Professional Regulatory Bodies.

Job Description

• The Director of Physical Planning is responsible to the Rector for the Planning and Controlling the technical activities of the Physical Planning of the Polytechnic
• Exercise general control on the Department
• Formulating and executing policies and programmes on relevant matters, advising on building needs, designs and construction of the physical (Building) assets in terms of quality and quantity, preparing the Department’s budget and exercising budgetary controls and Performing other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Applicants must possess B.Sc. / HND in either Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Building Technology, Estate Management or Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution of higher learning, who must have acquired at least twenty (20) years post academic qualification cognate experience or a Master’s Degree, with Eighteen (18) years post academic qualification cognate experience or a Doctorate Degree with Fifteen (15) years post academic qualification cognate experience.
• Must also be a registered Member of relevant Professional Bodies like CORBON, NIOB, NIGS, NIA e.t.c
• Vast knowledge of Public Procurement Process, Project Management and evidence of Community Service will be an added advantage.
• The Director of Physical Planning must be a person of high integrity who demonstrate transparency in public and private lives and likely to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the Polytechnic.
• They must also be receptive to new ideas and willing to translate them into action in line with the visions and missions of the Polytechnic.
• Applicants must not be more than 50 years of age (fresh appointment) at the time he/she assumes duty.
• The salary of the position is CONTEDISS 15 while other terms and conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeris or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.
