With the current situation, increase in death rate and affected persons, does the world need a cure or a vaccine? The question should be answered by you alone. Madagascar is a country with a population size of approximately 27 Million (this figure is from the 2018 population census). Madagascar has recorded 132 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 94 persons have completely recovered, with no death record.
Could this local mixture stabilize the world first, before the discovery of a vaccine?
President Andry Rajoelina launched the cure earlier this week disclosing that it had cured two patients. He said it was to be distributed for free to citizens and for all school going children. The country has since reopened schools across the country.
The President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina has announced a herbal remedy that he said showed encouraging results in fighting off the corona virus. The president went on to post photos from the presentation and images of what he calls “Covid Organics” medicine on his personal Facebook page.
He also said “All trials and tests have been conducted and its effectiveness in reducing the elimination of symptoms has been proven for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 in Madagascar,”.
The president also lifted the lockdown in three main cities in the country, adding that a Malgache “remedy” for the disease had been successfully tested. The medicine, is based on the studies of the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research and it will be distributed across Madagascar free of charge.
You may be wondering what this herbal medicine is about? or what it is made from? or you are trying to figure out how effective it can be in the fight against Coronavirus.
However, what we know for now is that according to the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research, the principal ingredient in the herbal drink is gotten from Artemisia annua, a green leafy plant that emits a striking smell that is also known as sweet wormwood.
You must note that no drug or herbal medicine has been certified as cure for the COVID-19 and in fact the World Health Organization (WHO) has said that popular medicinal foods, such as lemon, honey and ginger, are primarily good for general health but have no proven ability to cure the new corona virus.
Despite all this, it is important to note that at a time when the world is in search of a remedy and vaccine for the virus, a lot of studies and claims are being evaluated.
