Applications are now open for the Bloom Grant 2026, an initiative by Bloom Africa designed to support women entrepreneurs in Nigeria who are building businesses with meaningful social impact.
The grant offers up to $1,000 in funding to help women-led businesses strengthen operations, scale their impact, and expand their reach within their communities.
About the Bloom Grant
The Bloom Grant focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs who have moved beyond the idea stage and are actively running businesses that address social, economic, or community challenges.
By providing financial support alongside visibility, the programme aims to close the funding gap for women-led businesses while promoting sustainable growth and community development.
Why This Matters
Women entrepreneurs play a vital role in driving economic growth and social transformation across Nigeria. However, many face barriers such as limited access to funding, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
The Bloom Grant seeks to address these challenges by supporting women who are building impactful businesses, helping them:

- Increase business visibility
- Scale operations and impact
- Contribute to job creation and local economic development
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian woman residing in Nigeria
- Own a registered business
- Have an operational business (not in the idea stage)
- Run a business that is not more than 5 years old
- Demonstrate clear social, economic, or community impact
- Be willing to participate in post-grant reporting and visibility activities
Required Documents
Applicants are expected to submit:
- Business registration certificate
- Business financial statements
- Letter of recommendation
- Responses to up to seven short essay questions
Shortlisted candidates may also be invited for a virtual interview as part of the selection process.
